A FRESH START FOR LEARNING

Meet the learner.
Strengthen the foundation.

For students still working to recover skills missed during pandemic disruptions, students who have fallen behind for other reasons, and learners seeking preparation for their next grade.

Begin with current skills

A starting assessment and tutor conversation identify what the student understands, which prerequisite skills need attention, and what to teach next. Instruction begins at that starting point, using age-appropriate materials.

Turn consistency into progress

Students meet three to four days per week for explicit teaching, guided practice, independent work, and checks of understanding. Small groups are organized around similar instructional needs; individual priorities guide support.

CHOOSE A FOCUS

Foundations first.
Learning with purpose.

Choose a focus with TTS based on your child’s needs. For students catching up, Math and ELA are the core instructional priorities. Projects provide opportunities to apply those skills.

MATHEMATICS

Make the essentials secure.

Reinforce number sense, operations, fractions, problem solving, and other priority skills identified in the starting assessment. Connect stronger foundations to upcoming grade expectations.

ENGLISH LANGUAGE ARTS

Read, understand, and express.

Strengthen reading, vocabulary, comprehension, and writing through instruction matched to the learner’s current needs.

GLOBAL CITIZENSHIP

Research. Collaborate. Present.

Explore an age-appropriate topic, evaluate information, work with peers, and present research findings while applying reading and communication skills.

AI IN THE 21ST CENTURY

Think critically about new tools.

Explore what AI can and cannot do, evaluate outputs, check sources, and discuss responsible use through tutor-guided, age-appropriate activities.

THE THREE-MONTH PATH

A clear direction.
Room to adapt.

Learning goals and the pace of instruction are adjusted as tutors review student work.

MONTH 1

Rebuild foundations

Establish a baseline, choose individual goals, and teach essential missing skills with feedback.

MONTH 2

Strengthen independence

Revisit earlier learning, apply skills in new situations, and gradually reduce assistance.

MONTH 3

Prepare for the next grade

Connect progress to upcoming expectations, complete a final assessment, and identify next steps.

THE WEEKLY ROUTINE

Three core days. Additional support.

Core days combine teaching, guided practice, independent work, and a short understanding check. A fourth day can provide targeted reinforcement or an applied project, as agreed in the student’s schedule.

Prior learning is revisited each week. Session length, dates, format, and group placement are confirmed before enrollment.

PROGRESS FAMILIES CAN UNDERSTAND

Know what is improving.

Families receive regular updates on the skills practiced, current evidence, and next priorities. The program ends with a growth summary and recommendations for the school year.

Goals may include independent accuracy, reading comprehension, writing quality, or project skills. Progress varies; complete catch-up within one summer is not guaranteed.

Supported by Tutor Hub
